Aurora Generator is a incredibly product. I purchased my Generator 4 years ago now and had a slight problem with heating. A call to customer support guided me through a remote diagnosis. They quickly ordered the needed part (Thermostat) and guided it's install (I live very remote and getting service person to my location is very difficult).The product is a definite showcase because of it's great looks and very quiet operation (specially for a 4 cylinder diesel engine). It has been critical for comfort and security over the last 4 years giving me full home back up for several days at a timer during power outages.Many of my local friends have back up generators in the area and have used a propane model that are just not standing up to the needed use. There next move is to a Aurora!Great Product Great Canadian Company and Really Great STAFF!Highly recommend special for those who are like me and located on remote islands or locations!

Very happy with our 13kw Aurora Generator. This Generator with the Perkins engine is very quiet and powerful even under a heavy load and runs everything in a large 4 bedroom home. I recommend to size your generator based on your energy usage and requirements and not your house size. Most of the time with 50% lights on, a few TV's, cable boxes, refrigerator, upright freezer, etc. it is only using using about 1.5 kw. It can run my 5 ton central ac and electric dryer at the same time with over 40% of the usable generator load still available for other household items. Using a couple of heavy appliances at the same time is no problem along with everything else its about a 55% load load or about 6,800 kw. However there is really no need to run all those items at the same time, but it is good to know that if its necessary the generator can do so, plus significantly more. Every house load would be slightly different of course, equip age, condition and energy efficiency of appliances would have to be factored in but you'll enjoy the fuel saving with a generator like a 13 kw that is sized right and makes sense for almost every house. The generators are very well built, strong and very powerful. Most of the time you'll be below 50% load and the average households use only 5 kw-6 kw on average except when using an electric water heater, electric heat or electric dryer. Aurora Generator puts a lot of quality in their builds and assembly process and customer service before and after the sale is A-Plus. Aurora Generators are loaded with features and are very High Quality. Quality you can really see, touch, feel and trust. I can't stress enough, normal loads like a 5-ton central ac, lights, refrigerator and deep freezers, microwave, coffee maker and a few electric stove elements on and the gen set is at about a 55% load and it will comfortably run those. Fuel economy and savings is incredible on the 13 kw and use's slightly less than 1/2 gallon of fuel per hour below a 60% load. We did a lot of research before purchasing our generator. Diesel engine based generators are far superior to propane generators. We wanted a solid backup solution for our off-grid home. We bought a bare bones 13Kw generator and outfitted it with its own building to minimize noise, make servicing easier and to protect it from the environment. Aurora was always quick to respond to technical questions and continues to service us with appropriately priced maintenance parts. They take the time to listen and work with you to ensure you are happy with their products and service. Can highly recommend this company.

Just completed an install of an Aurora 13 Kw diesel generator, this was essentially a DIY project (not by choice, but that's a long story.) Ron and Jeremy of Aurora Generators did a great job of stepping me through the entire process from generator selection to working out a couple of install issues. They worked with me to customize my generator package to meet my requirements.There were zero problems with ordering from a Canadian business and then freight from Canada to the US. Easy process.What attracted me to buying a generator from Aurora was their attention to detail in putting the generator package together. All cabling/wiring are inside a wire loom with heat shrink at the wire ends. This is a high-end generator, not inexpensive but worth every penny.

We have lived off grid in central Ontario for about 12 years. Unfortunately during the darkest months we require a backup generator. We have had one Chinese diesel generator and two propane generators. All of those seem to be manufactured as disposable, planned obsolescence items. Also, living in an isolated area, we couldn't get propane deliveries year round.When our second Kohler propane generator died a premature death, we started looking for a serious generator. Luckily, we found Aurora. Not only is it a local company but the quality standards are fantastic. While we have only been running the generator for four months, we have had no problems. In addition, when I recently ordered oil, fuel and air filters, the service was great. Recently, our son had a friend visiting whose previous job was maintaining a fleet of hundreds of diesel generators in Fort MacMurry, Alberta. He had to check out our generator and was totally impressed by the components and the quality. We are very pleased with our purchase. It was an investment but we believe that it was a wise investment.

Diesel is the way to go. I learned my lesson during Hurricane Sandy, Good thing we stocked up on fuel for the cars and generator early on because 4 days after it was impossible to find gasoline. I noticed one thing all the stations running on CAT gensets had in common as I passed or stop in for a coffee . The diesel lines were powered, tanks full with maybe 2 people in line while there were hundreds waiting for gasoline. Its an obvious choice specially once you do your homework. Great Genset , and look forward to one day buying a silenced water cooled for the house. Did have a warranty issue head cylinder gasket blew out early in the break in period spent weeks in email turned more into being questioned by an then help with the situation ended up buying the part local wand making the repair myself.

Great company and exceptional service. I have spoken several times to the owner and he has always answered my questions. The unit arrived well packaged and in great shape. After adding fuel, antifreeze and hooking up the battery the unit started on the first try and ran within the parameters needed. If I were to need another unit I would buy from them and will tell anyone looking for a unit to contact them.
